How Does Hosting Work How Do Websites Work

How does hosting work? How do websites work?
Thinking about getting a website? Ever wondered how websites work or what is meant by “hosting” a website? We get those questions frequently and have come across a simple explanation by one of the hosting companies that we use – BlueHost.
If you’d like to get a good idea of how it all works without getting too techie, Natalie from BlueHost, gives a simple, easy to understand explanation of how websites work in the video below. One tip that we recommend is to buy your domain from one company (GoDaddy or NameCheap) and your hosting from another to avoid any possible “sticky” situations down the road.
Is hosting expensive?
Next to purchasing your domain (for under $15 a year), hosting is one of the least expensive components of your website. With BlueHost or HostGator (we recommend both of these hosting companies), you can expect to pay around $10 a month to host your website and depending on what type of plan you sign up for, you can even have multiple websites hosted on one hosting account!
Don’t want to deal with hosting?
Unfortunately, hosting is a necessity when it comes to websites. However, if you don’t want to deal with setting it up yourself, Divas Mobile Solutions offers one year of hosting free with any websites that they build (after the first year, it’s $120 a year).
